This light tan speckled clay ceramic stein holds a pint easily. This vessel is thrown by my partner, Jodi in our new beer stein concept, a bit of a throwback to traditional stein’s (without a cap). Once leather hard, I underglaze the clay with indigo and a mix of speckled yellow and ruby red glaze. Then carve the design through and around the painted shape, then low fired. Next, a clear glossy coat is applied over the illustration and natural white clay leaving a nice finished coat. All ceramic shapes are food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
