Artist Note: This diptych is inspired by my family, childhood all the experiences of growing up a twin. The right side of this drawing features a large cut wood with an empty next in the center. Around the next are ginkgo leaves and acorns. The ginkgo leaf is featured often in my work. This tree is one of the oldest living fossils in the world. The ginkgo leaf is extremely resilient and purifies the air. My brother under the zodiac sign, Gemini. On the left side of this drawing is a large nest featuring two Bluejay bird eggs, ginkgo leaves, and acorns. These two drawings work together as a timeline continuum of my life as a child to now adult as a twin. There are more symbolism and stories behind this carefully laid-out drawing, but I’m interested in the viewer’s interpretation before revealing all its secrets.
